how should a cast of the dice abandon the coincidence was conceived in sequence from the previous year's installation in PASO '94 - elevated in the midlle, somewhat elevated. Theinstallation created a parasitic armature and screen interface - as a maks over an existing fragment of the campus. The armature of bamboo hung from custom designed compression c-clamps and rubber-footed tension tripods (see Ressurection Project) that lightly touched the split face masonry block wall and parapet at seven locations.

A projection-performance activated the mask with still and video images projected onto and through the various layers of copper mesh screen. Un coup de dés jamais n'abolira le hasard (A roll of the dice will never abolish chance, 1897) by Stéphane Mallarmé was recited from the building's parapet. The poem was graphed and timed so its recitation matched the duartion of the one-hour projection performance.
