This group show collects the work of sign painters, tattooist, fantasy illustrators, and poster artists from the San Antonio area. The works contain non-traditional elements - car hoods, car doors, and mechanical gears - found material frames with hinges revealing hidden works, and found objects incorporated into graffiti influenced paintings revealing psychological repression, fantasy adventure, and other means of imaginitive escape from contemporary society. The opening event of the two-day show featured the live sounds of Pseudo Buddha. |
